data-mm-id=”_n1utm61m5″>Gardner Minshew made his first start of the 2021 NFL season today. The Philadelphia Eagles are at Metlife Stadium to face off against the New York Jets, but Jalen Hurts couldn't play after hurting his ankle against the New York Giants last week. Philly traded a sixth-round pick for Minshew over the offseason, and he took over No. 2 duties back in October after Joe Flacco was traded. Minshew threw a touchdown pass on his first possession, so rust isn't an issue. The eclectic quarterback's outfit before the game may have helped with the confidence. As Scott Hanson noted, Minshew looks like he's straight out of Top Gun with his leather jacket and aviators. what a baller pic.twitter.com/FjrY4bjU8u— alex (@highlghtheaven) December 5, 2021What a baller, indeed. Minshew dressed for the part. It's an important game for both quarterback and team. The Eagles have lost some momentum over the last two weeks and need a win to keep in the NFC wild card race. Minshew could very well be auditioning for a starting role somewhere else today. If he plays well, the Eagles could flip him next offseason for a pick, since they seem fully committed to Hurts. This is Minshew's shot. We'll see if he takes advantage, but he got off to a great start with this fit.

Michael Zorc disagrees with Mino Raiola s assessment that as many as 10 clubs would realistically be in the running to buy Erling Haaland if he wanted to leave Borussia Dortmund.
The Norway international has been prolific since joining the Bundesliga club midway through the 2019-20 season, scoring 43 goals in as many appearances in all competitions.
Haaland s contract is rumoured to include an agreement allowing him to leave for a €75million fee at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.

Arsenal and Mesut Ozil have reached an agreement in principle to terminate the contract between them, according to David Ornstein of .
The contract, signed in early 2018 after a period of unpleasant uncertainty, was supposed to ease the worries of the club about the prospect of losing their arguably best player at the time and it has been seeing him earn £350,000 per week. However, Ozil s performances dropped rapidly in quality from that point on, and the Gunners soon came to regret handing him such a lucrative deal. This season, he has been completely left out of Mikel Arteta s plans, with the manager not even naming him in his Premier League and Europa League squads.
The 32-year-old himself often stated he wouldn t be leaving the Emirates before the deal was up, whic…
Derek Llambias has announced his resignation as Newcastle United managing director with immediate effect.

The former Wimbledon boss had previously announced his return via the media and proceeded to criticise the board (including Llambias), the fans and the local press in a series of interviews.

LGBT+ England fans could turn their backs on Jordan Henderson when he plays for his country in a symbolic response to the midfielder’s move to Saudi Arabia.
Henderson was included in the 26-man squad for the upcoming games with Ukraine and Scotland as England manager Southgate stuck with the 33-year-old despite his move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.
Southgate does not believe Henderson will be jeered when he next turns out for England, despite the criticism he has faced for moving to Saudi Arabia after being a keen and vocal supporter of the Premier League’s ‘Rainbow Laces’ campaign and also working alongside Liverpool’s official LGBT+ fan group.

Being at Newcastle is the best thing which has ever happened to me, Taylor told The Evening Chronicle.
I am still living the dream of every young lad that is in this city. I still cannot describe the feeling when you walk over that line in front of 52,000 fans in a stadium like ours.
It is what I have always wanted to do. I have to keep pinching myself.
Taylor was heavily linked with a move away when Newcastle suffered relegation from the Premier League in 2009.
However, the former England Under-21 international never had any intention to seek a transfer and was delighted to have helped guide Newcastle back to top-flight respectability.
I was part of the team which was relegated. So I wanted to be part of the team which went up, he added.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang s former agent Yvan Le Mee has made it clear the Borussia Dortmund star left AC Milan because he felt he was not treated right.
The 26-year-old joined the Italian club s academy in January 2007, but left San Siro before breaking into the first team.
He enjoyed loan spells with Dijon, Lille, Monaco and Saint-Etienne before eventually joining the latter on a permanent deal in 2011.
However, Le Mee says things could have gone differently had his former youth coaches at Milan not favoured Italian youngsters over Aubameyang.
Aubameyang was scoring some amazing goals for Milan, but we realised that he was not playing much with Milan s Primavera [youth] team because their coach favoured Italian players over him and kept Auba out of the…
